Top Tips For Your Group Workout
Getting there early not only allows you to start your workout in a relax state, but it also gives you a chance to check in with your coach or fellow homos and homies.
ARRIVE ON TIME
If you’re not the one to arrive early, at least arrive on time. The first five minutes of a class are dedicated to building our community, so join us.
DONT HALF ASS THE WARMUP
We’re not all as young as we used to be. The older we get, the more important the warm up is. And if you half ass it, you’re more likely to get injured.
THE SWEET SPOT
Work at the pace of halfway between doable and challenging. That’s your sweet spot. You should feel uncomfortable (but safe) at all times.
We’re here to help. So if you need extra instruction, just say so. No shame in that. It’s better to get help than to have shitty form.
The faster you load/unload your weights on the barbell, the more working out we can get in.
Don’t get caught up with other people’s skill level. Focus on you. Trust us, no one is judging you. Everyone is focused on doing their own thing.
High five the hell out of each other. Everyone likes to be shown a little love during a hard workout.
Deodorant, do it. If you’re into the all natural thing, all good too. Just be mindful that you’re sweating your ass off next to other folks too.
The booty call can wait and so can all the work emails. Unless it’s before or after your workout, no cell phones.
ROLLIN’ WITH THE HOMIES
Equally as important as the warm up is the cool down. Do. Not. Skip. This. You will feel old and crippled way faster if you do.
Do whatever it takes to feel like you slayed your workout. Release the hell out of those endorphins and be hella proud of the werk you just out in.
